Japón sufrió un terremoto (grado 9,0) y luego un devastador tsunami el 11 de marzo de 2011, el cuarto terremoto de mayor intensidad desde que hay registros mundiales. Este terremoto es denominado oficialmente por la Agencia Meteorológica de Japón como el terremoto de la costa Pacífico de la región de Tōhoku de 2011. Hoy en Santiago de Chile, el Director del Servicio Sismológico de Chile explicaba en TVN 24 horas que la magnitud de este seísmo 9,0 es el doble de la de 8,8 sufrida por Chile el 27 de febrero de 2010; porque la escala de intensidad es logarítmica.

El maestro de Reiki Dr. Mikao Usui se hizo famoso ayudando a las víctimas del terremoto del 1 de septiembre de 1923, llamado Kanto Daishinsai. Como explica el maestro de Reiki Frank Arjava, debido a esta situación el decide formar ocho maestros de Reiki. Así gracias al Dr. Usui, al Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, a las maestras de Reiki, Hawayo Takata y Chiyoko Yamagushi y a muchos otros maestros, el Reiki se transmitió por todo el mundo. Hoy es el tiempo que los iniciados en Reiki se comprometan a mitigar el sufrimiento del pueblo japonés. Si eres iniciado en Reiki envía esta energía a esta situación, aunque sea poco tiempo, igual ayudará; ojalá pudieras hacerlo una vez al día por 21 días seguidos. Today I am writing to you with a heavy heart. You may have heard that the North of Japan was hit by a devastating earthquake and is threatened by a nuclear disaster. Until today the biggest recorded earthquake in Japanese history hit the Tokyo Bay on September 1, 1923. It was due to this earthquake, named Kanto Daishinsai, that Reiki and Usui Sensei became well- known in Japan. The only reason for us practicing Reiki today was the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives in the past. Until 1923 Usui Sensei was the only teacher of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, his association that he incorporated in 1922. When faced with the incomprehensible devastation, he decided to change his ways: He gave eight of his senior students the Shihan status, and taught them how to teach Reiki to his fellow men. Over the next year or so, they initiated thousands of people and according to Mrs. Koyama, the previous president of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, they gave several hundred thousand treatments. Now is the time for us to give something back to the people of Japan. Since it is difficult for most of us to pack our bags and go to help, I am in the process of finding a good project that we can donate money to. The large help-organizations are collecting donations already, but I would feel more comfortable with a direct approach. We will let you know once we have found a suitable project.
